My name is DD Cobb and I thank you for visiting our on line store. Chic Mama was started to fill the void in our city of San Antonio. When I was pregnant with my son Hayden there was not a place to shop that had the clothing I was looking. Fun, stylish and affordable fashions!! I'm a shopaholic and when I found out that I was expecting I was so excited to because I would get to go out and purchase a whole new wardrobe!! But to my dismay it wasn't so much fun. There were no stores that offered me what I was looking for!! (too much of the same thing) So that's when Chic Mama was conceived! Shortly after my son arrived we opened the most fabulous maternity boutique!! Our store is comfortable with a very Shabby Chic feel. We cater to all our clients needs and wants during a very special time in their life. We offer maternity fashions, nursing wear, comfy lounge clothes, and diaper bags and so much other great stuff we can't list everything!! 1. Never underestimate the power of accessories!
Necklaces, bracelets, big earrings, belts and the most important two accessories of all SHOES and HANDBAGS. SHOES!SHOES!SHOES! I love shoes!! Go out and find inexpensive ones because your feet may be changing sizes. Make sure that they are really cute versatile ones though. And I love purses as well! I have a purse closet if you can believe that. I love cheap ones, expensive ones, trendy ones, and basic ones. All purses are good. They finish off any outfit. Make sure before you walk out the door you deck yourself out from head to toe with really cute accessories.
2. Purchase maternity items that transition.
Transitional clothing is key when buying maternity. Sometimes you may not be able to justify the cost but if it's something you can wear early pregnant and it'll go all the way till the end well then it's worth the money. Also if it's a piece that goes from maternity to nursing then it's definitely a score! Make sure to buy piece that work today, tomorrow, and in the future.
3. Buy special pieces that you can wear from day to night.
We have beautiful tops that work well for day then can easily be dressed up with earrings and the right pair of shoes for night. When purchasing items for your maternity wardrobe make sure that you think to yourself, " Do I have any parties I'm going to in the very near future? What about a hot dinner date with the dad to be? Is there a holiday in the next couple of months?" Buying maternity clothes that work from day to night is the key to building a great wardrobe.
4. Take care of your skin!
I used Tummy Honey for my belly and Nicci for my face when I was pregnant. I couldn't get enough lotion on my belly and boobs. My skin was so dry and itchy it drove me crazy!! I had a tube of Tummy Honey in the bathroom, in my purse and near my bed. At night I would just lather myself up. My face did seem to change a little when I was pregnant with my daughter so a skin care regime was very important. I started washing my face and doing all the steps when I was pregnant with her. I love Nicci because it smells so clean and spa like. The Damask Rose Cleanser, Rose Hydrator, and Repair Moisturizer are a great start for flawless skin when you are expecting.
5. Get a great Diaper Bag.
I think your diaper bag is your signature piece. It's your look at me piece. If you have a fab bag then people wanna know you!! There are so many options now the possibilities are endless. Do you want a fashion bag or a function hag? That is the question? We have a good selection of diaper bags from different price points. The thing you need to ask yourself if you are you a mommy that will pack everything from the bugger bulb and thermometer to 2 extra outfits and enough bottles to last a week or are you the mommy that is like me that just packs the bare minimum because whatever you forgot surely you could stop and buy at a CVS. It's so hard to find the perfect one, but after 5 diaper bags and 2 babies I have found the one that suits my lifestyle... the Caden Lane Hobo is my bag of choice. It's so stylish it looks like a purse but with all the function of a diaper bag. All the must haves I carry for 2 little ones fits perfect and I look great carrying such a fashionable diaper bag!
